The Cake Club at BHS Central

The only confectionery (quasi) that my odd self can happily indulge in without ever stopping to consider the guilt are cakes. My hi-I'm-J-and-I'm-a-sugar-addict husband seriously thinks that I'm weird this way given that he literally gets the shakes if deprived of sweets for.....uhm.....three hours tops.

After a heavy lunch at a different restaurant yesterday, I told J that we should get some sweet treats at one of my favorite cake haunts, The Cake Club.  He immediately obliged, of course.

Originally a pastry shop of Diamond Hotel, The Cake Club has since branched out to two distinct locations in the city. The newest branch at the BHS Central now serves full meals aside from their famous Parisian pastries!

A modern minimalist concept with a combination of soft pastel colored and dark hued chairs makes this restaurant look elegant. The beautiful lighting provides a conducive area for eating.

The glass display houses The Cake Club's mouth-watering best sellers such as the Supermoist Chocolate Cake, Baked Cheesecake...

...Mont Blanc, St. Honore Ube, Vanessa, and Cecilia to name a few. The savory sweet goodies on display will get you into those embarrassing tongue-on-shop glass display situation if you have little self-control. I have a lot because I'm smooth that way.

Royce aficionados will do a perfect back-flip upon seeing this extensive collection of the said brand displayed in the refrigerated shelves. More Royce products are beautifully arranged on the island counter.

Apart from Royce, they also sell an array of blends from the French tea company Hediard and the not to be missed selection of artisan ice creams as well. They also have Supermoist Chocolate Cake and Baked Cheesecake as ice cream flavors!

Even after a heavy meal, our eldest could not pass on the chance to order some Truffle Fries. I find these fried potatoes with truffle oil, sprinkled with sea salt good but not extraordinary. Our boys like them a lot though.

Paired with Malongo cappuccino, my piece de resistance (Baked Cheesecake) made my palate extremely happy! The texture is so creamy and smooth and the taste is just marvelous!

Baked Cheesecake

Part of the name of this cake clearly describes what the layers of medium-densed chocolate goodness is all about: super moist! Throw in the words "ridiculously delicious" to that and you just perfectly described this cake experience.

Shhh...our youngest is seriously making an important decision that needs a lot of patience, concentration, and time.

After 5 years......Happy with his pick (Nama mild milk) of the day!
