Supermodels Strut Their Stuff at the 2012 Olympics

Catwalk queen extraordinaire Kate Moss lead the rest of the British supermodels - Stella Tennant, Lily Cole, Karen Elson, Naomi Campbell, Jourdon Dunn, David Gandy - as they strut their stuff at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony yesterday. 

The Brits showcased their greatest talents all throughout the opening and closing ceremonies so I was not really surprised that they featured their top models. The supermodels sashayed elegantly down the Union Jack runway into the center of the stage to the tune of David Bowie's Fashion.

They were clad in glittering gold creations by the best British fashion designers - Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Burberry, Jonathan Saunders, Victoria Beckham, Paul Smith, and Christopher Kane.

The brief show of the British fashion world drew sharp criticisms. Some say that it overshadowed the athletes which were the true stars of the Olympics. Others said that the reputation of the supermodels as being anorexic, bulimic, and druggies contradicts the clean living reputation of the athletes and the essence of the Olympics in general.
