Brad Pitt Gets in Touch with His Feminine Side for Chanel No. 5

Brad Pitt, the man who possesses what most of us would probably sell our soul for, a nearly perfect face (9.3 on the attractiveness scale), is the new face of Chanel No. 5. That's right! The women's perfume Chanel No. 5.

Why would the forever über hot actor accept the role of endorsing something that is clearly for the opposite sex's use? I have a few theories. First, he's just really that much confident about his manhood; number two, it's Angelina's favorite and he likes it on her; and third, the project comes with a reported $7 million paycheck! Scratch the third theory. He probably doesn't need that being a multi-millionaire hottie.

Enough about my theories and on to the real facts. The spokesman for Chanel, Andrea d'Avack, said that they picked a man as the new endorser "to keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view."

"We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume. No.5 is our leading fragrance, and we are willing to make the investment to keep it on that level", he continues.

The commercial was directed by Joe Wright whose famous works include Pride and Prejudice and Atonement.

I wonder if Brad Pitt was referring the question "Do you feel lucky?" in the teaser video to Angelina Jolie. That woman indeed got lucky!

Will Brad Pitt be as an effective endorser for Chanel No. 5 as his predecessors (Nicole Kidman, Catherine Deneuve, Audrey Tautou)? What am I talking about? It's Chanel No. 5!
