One of the pioneers in the soft-serve frozen yogurt industry, Golden Spoon, launched a whole new approach in the self-service concept called Weightless PricingSM . The event took place at the Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt's Shangri-La Mall branch last Wednesday afternoon.
Unlike most stores in the same category, Golden Spoon's self-serve frozen treats are priced per cup, not per ounce. That means, you can now fill every micro inch of your chosen cup with frozen yogurt and toppings con...fi...dent...ly! No need to have it weighed!
As promised by Roger Clawson {franchising CEO of Golden Spoon} last year, the almost 30-year-old frozen yogurt company "will revolutionize the frozen yogurt category". Embodied in that promise is Golden Spoon's aim - creating satisfaction for their customers. They did a survey of what customers really want and obeyed. This is what we (customers) want. We want to enjoy a delicious treat sans the feeling of being ripped off!
I'm no stranger to do-it-yourself frozen yogurt shops. I enjoy the whole process of filling the cup with frozen yogurt and toppings. I got easily lost in the fun process and went crazy! But, the fun quickly turned to a mini heart attack once my so-called "creation" was weighed!

Golden Spoon currently has ten one-of-a-kind frozen yogurt flavors to choose from. There are only nine flavors below because I forgot to take a photo of my son's favorite Golden Spoon flavor - Belgian Chocolate! Mine's Red Velvet Cake and Old-Fashioned Vanilla! Both are extremely good!
This is where the fun starts! Your biggest worry is how much you can put in your cup, right? Well, you can put as much frozen yogurt and toppings in it as it can hold! You can even mix the flavors to satisfy your inner bipolarness!
The fun continues here! Top off your towering creation with any of the twelve delicious dry toppings!
And voilà! Seriously filling and healthy snack plus lots of fun from beginning to end!

There was an impromptu game (one will get a price for the tallest frozen yogurt and another for the most creative) during the launch. "Nanay, we can make a Christmas tree!", my son gleefully said. "We can use the St. Patrick's Mint as Christmas tree then put gummies as ornaments", he continues. St. Patrick's Mint is our least favorite flavor, but since it's the only flavor that resembles a traditional Christmas tree's color, we had to swirl it in our cup.
Little Da Vinci's concept won the Most Creative frozen yogurt creation during the launch! He got Golden Spoon gift certificates and earned bragging rights for it!
This behemoth creation by Marese of When in Manila won her the Tallest Frozen Yogurt Award! Eight inches of frozen beauty! Wow!
There are two kinds of service Golden Spoon offers - Artist {self-service} and Concierge {full-service}. If you want someone else to do it for you, you may opt for the latter. If you want to do it all yourself {way funner!}, you have the option to choose the former or the Artist. It's always your way!
