Sky Fun Amusement Park at Sky Ranch Tagaytay

Holy Week means heavy traffic along Tagaytay's main road {Aguinaldo Highway}. My parents-in-law's house is less than ten minutes away from Sky Ranch on a good-traffic-free day. It took us almost an hour to get to the leisure park that day!

The topic of conversation all throughout the time we were stuck in bad traffic was how much Tagaytay has changed. There have been so many developments {vertical and horizontal} in the area over the years that picturing the city in its near virginal state {meaning early 90's} is a bit of a struggle for me.

Sky Ranch is located on the area where a horse riding facility used to be. The developers created a new fenced horse riding arena called the Sky Loop within the 5 hectare leisure park. It's the first thing you'll see upon entering Sky Fun - the amusement park inside Sky Ranch.

According to a park attendant, you can rent a gazebo for PhP 100 per hour.

The focal point of the park is the Sky Eye. At 207 feet, the Sky Eye is said to be the tallest ferris wheel in the country. It is visible from miles away, especially at night when the big wheel puts on an amazing light show.

We purposely went to Sky Ranch before dusk because one, the temperature is cooler, and two, the view during sunset is extra, extra amazing!

I'm not fond of riding ferris wheels because spinning motion {regardless of how slow the movement is} makes me very dizzy and nauseous. My boys and my siblings tried it though. They said that the view from the top during sundown is really breathtaking.

This would be a really good place to propose to your loved one. You better make sure first that she doesn't have motion sickness like me cause that would be disastrous and really gross.

Each Sky Eye passenger capsule are enclosed and fit with air-conditioning units, same as the one at MOA. One capsule can fit up to a maximum of four adults. The a/c units are at the bottom portion of the capsules so, according to my sister, the cold air only reaches the lower leg and feet area. Well, cold air goes down so...

The ride that draw thrill seekers is the Super Viking. It would've been really cool if the ride is facing the ridge rather than sideways. Just a thought.

You'll see a couple of mime performances all throughout Sky Fun Amusement Park. They're mostly stationed near the Sky Eye. It pains me to hear a couple of people taunt the mimes. They're hard working people trying to earn an honest living.

Ticket price is currently at 50% off until the end of May. The usual price is PhP 100 per person. Free entrance for kids 3 feet and below.

The entrance fee does not include rides. The fees for the rides are priced individually and can be paid once inside the Sky Fun Amusement Park. I hope that the management will come up with a pay-one-price soon.

If you want to truly enjoy the park and its amenities, it's best to go during the weekdays. Bring a light jacket {especially for the kids} if you're planning to go during the afternoon and stay until closing time. The Tagaytay weather gets cooler at night even during summertime.

There are a couple of food stalls at Sky Fun Amusement Park. You can't get a proper meal yet within the park. However, rows upon rows of food establishments are expected to open soon at Sky Ranch. Before that happens, I suggest that you take a heavy meal before you go to Sky Fun Amusement Park.
