During the 90's, one of the most coveted fashion pieces were the Salvatore Ferragamo Vara and the Vara Bow Thick Headband. My mom constantly wore her black Vara's with a pair of slacks. I associated the classic pair with mature stylish women due to this.
I liked the clean style of the Vara's even then. I particularly liked Salvatore Ferragamo's signature grosgrain bow.
In celebration of it's 35th year, Salvatore Ferragamo has launched an online portrait of the classic shoes called, L'Icona. The stacked-heeled Vara and the ballet flats Varina can now be customized! Between the two styles, I adore the Vara more.
There are two kinds of materials to choose from ~ patent and floral. I prefer the former, hands down. The Vara in patent leather is definitely more beautiful than the original matte leather ones. It makes the colors more vibrant and are more appropriate for younger women. I love that you can include your initials in each pair! Personalized anything is my favorite!
Below are the customized Vara and Varina that I made from their site! No more eating out! I'm gonna start saving up for a pair!
