The school year is coming to an end this week for most schools; and like most moms, I'm looking for a good summer program that's educationally enriching.
Since my eldest has more Einstein than Bruce Lee in his composition {beats me}, The Mind Museum's Summer Program will suit him the most - specifically, the Junior Mind Mover Program.
Prompted by a wouldn't-it-be-great convo with my son inside the museum, I mentioned this in my blog post more than a year ago as a simple suggestion. I highly doubt that my opinion influenced their decision, by the way.
Anyhoo, I'm really glad that they have this kind of summer program now. It started last year, actually. It's a great opportunity for young science enthusiasts. As a parent, I think that providing opportunity {as well as option} to our kids is one of the best things that we can ever give them.
They have various summer programs that will provide hands-on learning experiences for kids. Parents can join too! Those who are eager to accompany their kids and learn with their kids can do so with Mind Museum's Marine Science Camp. You and your kids will take an in-depth look at the marine environment during the three-day event with biologists from one of the best science centers in the US: California Academy of Sciences.
If my age is still within their bracket {10-25; I'm 26 *wink*}, I would definitely choose Forensic Art and C.S.I 101. I'm such a forensic nut. I blame my childhood obsession with the Nancy Drew series. I can watch C.I. for hours on end every single day and I still watch reruns of CSI Las Vegas' awesome days {read: when Gil Grissom was still there}.
