Philippines' first world-class science museum recently had its second birthday. To mark this wonderful event, a celebration was held at the The Mind Museum's Special Exhibit Hall last Saturday.
Aside from the fun games, the achievements gained by the institution within its two-year existence were highlighted as well as the launch of the 2014 Summer Program for kids and the new shows.
The Mind Museum's Achievements
The Mind Museum earned a GOLD LEED certification from the US Green Building Council for its environmentally-sustainable architecture. The LEED {Leadership in Environment and Energy Design} green building rating system is created to promote design and construction practices that increase profitability while reducing negative environmental impacts of buildings.
The Mind Museum also recently received an "Outstanding Achievement" THEA Award given by the Themed Entertainment Association {TEA}. The Mind Museum is the first museum in Asia to receive such recognition! TEA emphasized that the museum "expands science into a fully experiential world." Other TEA awardees are the Disney Parks, Cirque du Soleil, and Singapore's Gardens by the Bay.
Here are some highlights of the event:
The Mind Museum's Curator Maria Isabel Garcia and Managing Director Manuel Blas II cites the museum's achievements to host Mitzi Borromeo and the guests.
