It's about time!
Lupita Nyong'o is the new ambassadress of Lancôme! The actress is reportedly the first black model for the brand. In her statement, Lupita said that she is "particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman's freedom to be herself.”
She created such a huge impression on me the very first time I saw her photo. She's unquestionably pretty, has a great figure, smart, and dresses impeccably. Plus, she is the only woman I know who made a hi-top fade look elegant.
She also has a certain 'pull' - a je ne sais quoi. It's a rare quality afforded to only a certain few. Halle Berry is gorgeous, as well as, Beyoncé or Kerry Washington, but they don't possess that quality that Lupita has for me.
Lupita is my second favorite Lancôme model; the first being Isabella Rossellini. Inés Sastre is my third choice. The stills for this campaign will be taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
