An Introvert's Heart

This infographic, created by Gemma Correll, pretty much sums up my heart's contentment. I am an introvert; actually, too much of an introvert. I prefer to stay home, read, eat, and think. I tried to conform to the norm when I was younger. I would go out thrice a week just so my friends wouldn't think I was weird. I enjoyed going out, but I enjoyed staying at home much more.

One of the things I love about getting old-er is a sense of acceptance. I am now confident enough about my place in the world, and I really don't push that hard anymore just to fit in. I love it! Now, I can ditch whatever party my friends are having, and not feel bad about my decision. I don't even try to give excuses anymore.

I'm not a hermit. No, no. I still go out from time to time. The main difference is that I make sure I go out with the people who matter in my life, and not go out just for the sake of. This may sound too cold, but I'd really rather stay home and alphabetize my books {even my spices} than go out with people who feign sincerity. This is not the best thing to do. This is just me. Life is just too short for bs. Cliché, but true.
