One of my dream destinations is George Nakashima's house and studio in New Hope, Pennsylvania. I would also love to have a Nakashima furniture {Conoid Dining Table, Conoid Chair, Walnut Grass Chairs, Minguren Cocktail Table, Walnut and Woven Chair, Pandanus Credenza, or the Lounge Chair}, but I think I'm closer to visiting the house/showroom/studio than owning one. Anyway, I'm not gonna give up on that dream. I will buy that someday soon!

The U.S.-born, M.I.T-educated architect and furniture maker is known as the Father of the American Craft movement. He is a legend in the fine field of woodworking. A Nakashima trademark is highlighting wood fissure instead of covering them up, Things that have imperfections appeal to me, that's why I find his work so amazing! His biggest project to date is Nelson Rockefeller's New York home. The businessman commissioned him to do 200 pieces for his home!

You can see more photos of his home and the extraordinary furniture here.

Onward and Upward!
