Erwin Blumenfeld had no formal training as a photographer yet he is considered as one of the all time greats. The first photo of him that I saw was that of Grace Kelly's. Of course it was beautiful. There's not a single photographer in the world that could make her look otherwise. She just is.
The rest, I revere for its dynamism and enigma. The shots weren't focused on the subject. It was not about self-aggrandizement. It was about the overall outcome of the photo itself.
