TĀZA Fresh Table's Rewarding Specials

TĀZA {derivative of the Arabic word "taaza" -- meaning fresh} Fresh Table is the partially hidden hexagonal {maybe heptagonal - forgot to count the sides} building at the historic Taal Vista Hotel. It's an unassuming place that underlines high quality ingredients with supreme execution above everything else. The menu is a medley of dishes from the world over with an imaginative touch crafted by Chef Jayme Natividad. Below are all part of TĀZA's special menu.

TĀZA Fresh Table Mezze Babaganoush, Spinach with Bacon Jam, Hummus. and Sautéed Chicken Liver

The mezze spread consists of Babaganoush, Spinach with Bacon Jam, Hummus. and Sautéed Chicken Liver accompanied by the pliable pitas. Each were delicious! The Spinach with Bacon Jam will probably be the most memorable for you if you prefer a tweak off the old block. It's a flavorful concoction with the right amount of sweetness. It's a great way to make kids eat some spinach, too! My boys loved it!

Homemade Bacon PhP 191

The Homemade Bacon is another table hit! These tender porcine slabs sponged in the marinade so well! It has a side of apple-mango compote.

TĀZA Salad PhP 411

The TĀZA Salad has a conscientious combination of ingredients such as the microgreens, quinoa, wild arugula, dried mangoes, cherry tomatoes, pickled radish, and edible flowers. The pile is mixed with a dynamic a la minute tarragon-white wine vinaigrette.

Seafood Stew PhP 602

A bountiful bowl of assorted delicious seafood {shrimp, fish chunks, mussels, squid} bathing in spiced tomato broth. A perfect dish to warm the belly during a cool night in Tagaytay.

Squash Agnolotti PhP 394

This was love at first bite! The agnolotti is freshly made in TĀZA's open kitchen. Each soft, chewy pouch is filled with squash and cheese. It's hearty and rich without the satiating factor.

Pizza Sampler PhP 761

While taking photos of the pasta, my good friend Richie asked me if I've tried the pizza already. "Not yet. I'll just have one. I'm already busog {full}," I replied. I had four! My boys and I yield to the savory power of this pizza sampler. Each flavor accentuates the ingredients really well. It's so good! The Salsa Verde with Pancetta was king; but then again, the Zucchini and Squash Blossom, Margherita, and Four Cheese were just as perfect!

Tomahawk Porkchop PhP 865

I'm always too lazy to drive, but if I'd be rewarded with this Tomahawk Porkchop, I'd gladly brave the Saturday traffic to Tagaytay. In every food establishment, there's always that one dish that would make you happy to be there. This is it for me! The tender hunk lies on a bed of mashed potatoes that's surrounded by pork jus! Palate...Blown.

TĀZA Fresh Table Peanut Butter and Jelly Tart

I was still so ready to go through another round of pure pleasure despite being in a blissful state of contentment due to all of the above. You just can't skip dessert even if the food is regurgitating back to your mouth because your stomach have maxed out its capacity, right? Drink half a glass of water, and take it like a woman!

The Peanut Butter and Jelly Tart and Olive Oil Ice Cream were the fitting end to a hearty dinner. The PB and J tart is a sweet {not overly so} and nutty combo that's quite addicting. The Olive Oil Ice Cream is inspired by Mario Batali's own. It's drizzled with olive oil and topped with caramelized pineapple. Excellent!
