The Historic Taal Vista Hotel

The perks at staying at Taal Vista Hotel are not only limited to the good food, nice rooms, and fantastic view. Once you decide to spend a weekend there to enjoy all that, you also know that you are supporting a significant historical landmark in Tagaytay. We only have very few places like these {the well-preserved ones at least} throughout the country.

In my eldest son's words during our discussion while stuck in a gridlock along EDSA: "It's sad that in our quest for modernization, we have lost our identity. Most of the historical buildings are either dying or dead."

Thankfully, Taal Vista Hotel was refurbished back to its former glory in 2004. I have very good memories of this place back in the 80s. My dad and mom would take us here every so often, and a visit to this hotel wouldn't be complete without a mandatory photo near the ridge with the Taal Volcano as backdrop.

Tagaytay is blessed with a good climate all year round. The temp is a huge respite from the hellish one in Manila! But the best time to visit is during the holidays still. It's extra cooler and gloomy - the perfect combo to hibernate in the room all day!

Fell in love with the Porter's chairs at the Lobby Lounge! I forgot to ask who they are by, though.

The Premier Lake room is spacious and well-designed. It's fitted with modern facilities and a really comfy bed! All of those mentioned are great, but they barely matter if the Wi-Fi connection's terrible, right? I feel you. Fortunately, the speed was pretty fast in our room.

And of course, you get this majestic view of the Taal Volcano. I'll never get tired of this view. Very calming.

Taal Vista Hotel is truly a wonderful family hotel in Tagaytay. They have great amenities for the kids like the children's play area and the swimming pool to name a few. We didn't go for a dip though because it was too cold.

Parents can either have a relaxing massage at the Asmara Spa or burn some calories at the fitness room after a satisfying breakfast, lunch, or dinner at TĀZA Fresh Table or the Cafe Veranda! Do not go home without trying Chef Jayme's French Toast! It's life-changing.
