Lobster and Seafood Shack at Makati Shangri-La's Circles Buffet

I had an epiphany while I was at Makati Shangri-La's Circles, joyfully devouring a lobster like a lunatic: I'm truly thankful that I'm not allergic to shellfish! We all have something that hits our sweet spot. Shellfish does that for me.

The Lobster and Seafood Shack Festival is not an entirely new feature at Circles; it's more of a comeback theme. They had one last year. The varieties of shellfish this time, though, are better and bigger! Case in point: the Taiwanese clams {below}. You'll understand what I mean when you see it in person.

Well hello there, Chef! The pre-cooked shellfish varieties are located on the opposite side of the main buffet area. Various condiments that makes them extra good are arranged in front. Right behind this beauty is a makeshift oyster bar.

If you want to have a few pieces cooked in different ways, get the raw lobsters near the prime rib area. You can have those turned into Garlic-Butter Lobsters, Singaporean  Chili Lobsters, Baked Lobsters with Cheese, etc. The meat were so tender, slightly sweet, and just simply addicting! I had more than my belly could handle!

I saw a couple of guests insist on having the pre-cooked ones cooked again into different dishes. That would result in an unpleasant rubbery texture. Well, to each his own,

There are various kinds of raw fish and scallops as well. You may want to take advantage of that, too!

I can never resist Makati Shangri-La's sashimi! I have a couple before I hit the mains, while I'm eating the mains, and after as part of my dessert. Salmon is still the best for me.

Seafood dishes are incorporated in every station at Circles. Above is the Indian Station and below is the Chinese Station. The shrimp kebab is glorious as well as the sea bass with soy sauce!

Since I prefer seafood over red meat, I enjoy Makati Shangri-La Circles' seafood theme better than their steak nights. But, but, but that doesn't mean I don't crave a medium rare. After all, one needs a good contrast after those crustaceans for balance.

You'll still get a dose of red meat and white meat amidst a sea of lobsters, shrimps, scallops, mussels, clams, crabs, etc.! The prime rib and roast chicken is right beside the dessert station.

Chili Crabs

Buttered Seafood

One of the best ways to achieve euphoria is by eating tomalley {lobster paste or crab fat} with steamed white rice. It's not scientifically proven. It just, you know, works for me real well. Everyone wants to achieve happiness. This is mine, and I'm not letting anyone guilt talk me out of it.

The Lobster and Seafood Shack buffet is priced at PhP 2,600 net and is available for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 pm until 10:30 pm, and lunch on Sundays from 12 noon until 2:30 pm. This dining promotion is available until the 30th of October this year only.
