I'm welcoming Denny's with open arms even though it is long overdue! Almost everyone who have swung by stateside have eaten at Denny's maybe more than once - some during the wee hours of the morning, perhaps? The point is, it is a household name in the land of the free. But, that's not what gets my insides happy, it's the memories I had at Denny's {specially the one at Sepulveda}, and the pancakes, too! They really have good pancakes.

Just like the ones in the US, Denny's Manila is open 24/7! This is another thing that makes me happy as a nocturnal being. From 11 PM until about 4 AM is when I'm most hungry no matter how much I eat prior. Insomniacs will get my drift.
Anyway, this is probably one of the first few questions about Denny's Manila: are the food as good as the ones in the States? The only way for me to know is if I eat a Denny's pancake from the U.S. and one from Manila side by side, preferably with a blindfold.
The main thing here is that the ones I had were really good, and I truly hope that they will sustain that quality.
Chicken and Sausage Quesadilla PhP 395 |
A must-have starter at Denny's Manila is the Chicken and Sausage Quesadilla. It's roasted chicken with crumbled sausage, fire-roasted bell peppers, onions, American cheese, and pico de gallo in tortilla triangles. It's served with ranch dressing.
These delicious balled pancakes will be my next movie house grub! They're so tasty and convenient! It's a beefed-up version of bicho-bicho. The exterior is crunchy, followed by a dense yet fluffy core. Each one is coated with cinnamon sugar and enhanced by maple syrup. These with melted cheese in the middle would be excellent!
The Grand Slamwich PhP 395 |
The Grand Slamwich is another favorite at Denny's! Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, shaved ham, and American cheese makes for a great in-between, but it is the potato bread grilled with maple spice spread that turns it into something craveable!
Ham and Cheese Omelette PhP 395 |
The folded fluffy egg concoction is generously mixed with diced ham and cheese. It comes with a serving of toast and french fries. You can sub each with rice, by the way.
The Original Grand Slam PhP 375 |
Love me some good flapjacks! I've always liked the pancakes at Denny's, but I think I'm in love with their new and improved buttermilk pancakes! Although they're not thick, diameter-wise, they're big. They're golden brown on top with slightly crisped edges, fluffy at the center, and overall delicious! It's served with whipped butter, sausages, bacon strips, and two eggs cooked any which way you want.
Choco Overload Peanut Butter Pancake Plate PhP 395 |
I just realized that I have Filipinized this order. There's an obvious inception of carbs going on here. No regrets. Like I said, I love the plain buttermilk pancakes at Denny's. This Choco Overload Peanut Butter Pancake, however, is my latest obsession!
Choco hot fudge and peanut butter sauce are wonderfully slathered on top and in the middle of two buttermilk pancakes. Is it sweet? Of course it is! It is deliciously and mind-blowingly sweet! I love it!
Speaking of "Filipinized", the menu of Denny's Manila includes Filipino favorites such as Arroz Caldo, Adobo, Rib-eye Tapa, Bangus Belly, Longganisa, and Tocino! I love pancakes, but I will backslide to what I'm familiar with from time to time, so yay to this!
Bourbon Barbecue Bacon Burger PhP 525 |
Guests are raving over the Bourbon Barbecue Bacon Burger and the Sriracha Burger. The former is composed of hand-pressed beef patty, bacon, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, and, lettuce, tomato, onions, and sweet bourbon sauce. All that carefully placed at the center of sliced cheddar buns. Yum!
Denny's Uptown Parade is the first store in Manila. The next one will be at Vista Mall in Nuvali. South people watch out for that because it will open very soon!
