When it comes to sweets, ice cream and cakes are my ultimate indulgences...in that particular order. I don't deprive myself {or rather, I can't stop myself} from having a scoop and a thin slice even when I'm on a diet.
So while traipsing down Cochrane St. in Hong Kong, I saw this familiar ice cream place where I had a really grand time at years ago in New York: Emack and Bolio's! I immediately made a beeline for some scoops when I saw it!
Brief FYI: The brand was conceptualized by lawyer Robert Rook in 1975 at Boston, Massachusetts. It was named after his homeless clients. Emack and Bolio's Hong Kong opened late last year, and as expected, it was welcomed with a long line of eager ice cream fanatics.

Emack and Bolio's is known as the Ice Cream for the Connoisseur. Well, I'm not; I just really like their ice cream a whole lot. They also claim that they don't use milk from cows that's been injected with genetically induced hormone bST and that a lot of their flavors are Halal-certified.
Another thing that gets this ice cream brand a good buzz is their crazy cones! They have the famous Marsh cones {marshmallow dipped cones with Oreos, Rice Krispies, Froot Loops, and Fruity Pebbles!
I didn't get any of those because, well, they're not really my thing. Yes, they look good for photo ops, but I'd rather have a chocolate-dipped version of that. The ice cream flavors, by the way, range from old school to out-of-this-world {I'm talking about you Cosmic Crunch}!
Emack and Bolio's Hong Kong is a two-floor ice cream shop. The first floor is where the craziness happens. That's where customers buy and enjoy their treats. The tables and chairs are very limited, so most order to-gos. The second floor is where the toilets are.
They don't have the ice creams on display. What they have is a menu of the flavors right behind the counter. If you have a bad eyesight like mine, you can just browse through the laminated menu on the counter.
Aside from their ice cream, Emack and Bolio's have quite a variety of fudge, chocolates, and smoothies, too! The first two are on full display for customers to salivate on.
Here's what I got: One scoop of Salted Caramel Chocolate Pretzel and a scoop of Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup over a dark chocolate-dipped waffle cone! Yeah, yeah I know. It's like a mundane ice cream tower with 50 Shades of Brown. The taste was the total opposite, though! It's thick enough to be slightly chewy {the kind I love}, ultra-rich with infused flavors without being overly satiating, and they don't melt easily.
This one has a few drips though because I took about a hundred snaps of it with different backgrounds. I still ended up posting the one with the store's facade. That's how creative I am. *eye roll of the century*
