Desire: Jacques Marie Mage Handcrafted Eyewear from Japan

No matter how much I try, I just can't resist a good eyewear. It's more of a necessity in my case than simple frivolity. I can scrimp on so many other things, but when it comes to frames, I refuse to. Why? They have to be comfortable and stylish enough for me to tolerate them sitting on my face every single day for the rest of my life! It's much better if I can have something that's tailored to the specific measurement of my face.

Jacques Marie Mage offers tailored service for those who wishes to include custom detailing to their frames. JMM is an LA-based eyewear brand that carries timelessly designed peepers - all of which are handcrafted in Japan.

You know what else I love about this brand? They don't include prescription lenses. Buying glasses online is definitely okay for me; including prescription lenses, however, is not. I've tried buying online specs twice with free prescription lenses. Despite giving the accurate prescription, they turned out to be flawed. They gave me a terrible headache. Lesson learned. Nowadays, I just buy the frames online, then bring them over to my optometrist/optician to have a fresh pair of lenses popped right in.

I especially like that each pair is named after a significant figure. The first two are called Dealan. They are an ode to the legendary single slash Nobel Prize winner, Bob Dylan. The third one is named after the great Ferrari boss: Enzo.

Jacques Marie Mage Pasolini

The one above is named after Italian film director, Pier Paolo Pasolini. They're simply perfect! I love gold-rimmed black frames!
