#Pound by Todd English at The Mega Fashion Hall

Good news #1: Pound by Todd English will have a $1 Menu Deals from April 1-31, 2017. A £1 dish would've been brand-friendly, but since the nominal value of the USD converts less, I say yay to the $1 Menu Deals!

Good news #2: Pound still serves great burgers.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that lack of consistency is one of the reasons why a restaurant bombs.

I have been to Pound a couple of times, and I'm happy to report that I haven't had any fails during those times. And no, it's not because I'm a blogger. Nobody knows who I am, and to be honest, nobody cares. Okay that hurts a lot, but it's the truth.

My go-to at Pound is the Foie Gras Burger - fantastic every...single...time. During this SM Megamall branch visit, I discovered another favorite: Truffle Risotto Tater Tots. Little balls of euphoria, I tell you!

There are two Pound locations at the 2nd floor of SM Mega Fashion Hall. The 16-seater Pound is the main restaurant; it's where the kitchen is. It's right beside Le Petit Souffle. The satellite location is just a few steps away.

Pound by Todd English SM Megamall Bacon Poutine
Bacon Poutine  PhP 210

I was with a bunch of people who are in lust with bacon, hence the Bacon Poutine - fresh cut fries blanketed by house-made gravy and cheese, and stippled with smoky chunks of bacon

Substitute the bacon with some ground beef, add caramelized onion, and you've got yourself a Todd English Poutine. Both are really good, by the way. The gravy's thickened and seasoned just right.

See those nibblers peeking at the back? Those are Pickled Chilis {PhP 75}, and they are delicious! You can have them as is, dipped in aioli sauce, or go crazy by placing two on top of your burger mound.

Being the carnivores that they are, the guys' Cheshire cat smiles from wolfing down burgers are replaced by frowns whenever a salad is placed on the table. I like Pound's Crispy Goat Cheese Salad, though. It's a welcome reprieve from all the fat! The deep-fried goat cheese ravioli are accompanied by a variety of garden greens, and drizzled with raspberry vinaigrette.

Truffle Fries  PhP 160

The house cut fries are enhanced by truffle oil. If the truffle component still feels weak to you, then you'd be happy to know that the ketchup is pumped with truffle, too! Out of the Fries variety at Pound, this one tops my list.

Amsterdam Burger  PhP 280

Pound's Amsterdam burger without {above} foie gras and with {below}. You can get the foie gras as an add-on along with different kinds of cheese. The Amsterdam is composed of house ground patty, pastrami, mustard relish, sauerkraut, fried onions, T.E. sauce - all are sandwiched in between toasted brioche bun. This one is really good, but the Foie Burger is gooder! Women *shakes head*

Pound Foie Gras Burger  PhP 700

How much am I willing to sacrifice for this burger? My soul. I'll happily eat this one on ALL Fridays of Lent. I'm a rebel like that.

This jaw-stretcher has about an inch thick of house ground beef patty, crispy onion, caramelized onions, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, mustard relish, T.E sauce, and a 50g seared foie gras.

To make it extra foie gras-gy {?}, there's a generous amount of foie gras mousse thrown in the tower, too! This is my favorite at Pound. At PhP 700, it is their priciest burger, but the quality definitely makes up for that.

The price for their entry-level burger starts at PhP 195.
